The painting depicts a riverside scene below a blue sky with soft white clouds. The river stretches away from us towards the horizon at the center of the painting. Buildings line the riverbank on the left, with white walls and roofs in shades of red and dark green. There are also two smaller yellow-orange structures. The buildings are surrounded by trees painted in thick, crisscrossing strokes of green, and there are more trees in the distance and on the right side of the river. The water in the center reflects the buildings, trees, and sky. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible.
