The painting shows a harbor scene. There is a row of boats close to us at the bottom of the painting, their masts pointing in different directions. Beyond these boats is a stretch of blue water, and past that are more boats at the bottom of a hill lined with buildings in warm earth tones. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible. The water in the center is bright blue, while the sky above is darker blue, with pale gray clouds.
