The image depicts a woman's upper body. She is seated in a sideways position but facing forward towards the viewer. The woman has dark hair styled in an updo with ringlet curls framing her face. Her facial features include fair complexion with a slight blush on her cheeks and blue eyes. She wears a yellow dress with puffed sleeves, patterned white lace detailing on the bodice, and a high waistline. Around her neck is a black choker with a gold pendant, and she has delicate gold drop earrings. She wears a bracelet on her right wrist and holds an ornate white fan in her right hand. The background is a plain, muted blue, with a reddish-brown drapery with tassels framing the top and sides of the portrait.
