This painting shows a woman from the waist up, her body and head turned slightly to the left. Her left hand is holding a pile of papers upwards, and with her right hand she is pointing in front of her, her arm fully extended. She has brown skin highlighted with some thin lines of red, yellow, pale green, and white. She has dark, arched eyebrows, round eyes, a slightly upturned nose, and red lips set in a neutral expression. Her dark hair is short, falling around her ears in slight waves, and it appears to have some streaks of gray in it. She is dressed in a rich blue garment with a draped cowl neck and short sleeves. The background is mostly light gray, with some small areas of pale blue, pink, and red.
