Sculptor, American, 1879 - 1947

The sculpture depicts a woman standing in front of a deer. The woman's body is facing us, with her head turned to the left. One of her knees is partially bent, and her arms are slightly extended to either side, her wrists flicked outward. The woman is nude, and her hair is pulled back from her head in a bun with some short curls hanging down. The deer is behind her legs, its head on the left and its tail on the right. It has its neck curved upwards, and its nose is almost touching one of the woman's hands. The sculpture is made of a dark, polished material with a smooth and reflective surface. It is mounted on a square base with decorative edges.
