This painting shows a person sitting on a rocky outcrop, looking out over a vast landscape. The horizon is placed in the upper third of the composition, and the sky transitions from pale blue at the top of the painting to light yellow and then to pale pink. In the distance, rolling hills and valleys extend towards the horizon, painted in shades of cream, light blue, and pale green. Closest to us, there are large, rounded rocks scattered around in shades of pale yellow, pale pink, and light, reddish-brown. On the right, the rocky ground slants upward into a hill. A person in a white shirt, gray pants, and a brown hat sits on the rocks, facing away from us and looking towards the view below. On the left, more hills fade into the distance, their reddish-brown stones covered with green plant life.
