Painter, American, 1912 - 1962

This painting shows a series of vertically oriented shapes and lines. The shapes at the top appear to blend and cascade downwards in colors including reds, oranges, purples, blues, pinks and greens. Below this cascade are dark, thin, spiky shapes stretching upward from the bottom of the painting. These shapes are all black, although some of the color from the higher shapes seem to drip down over them. Between the upper and lower shapes is an off-white middle section.
